SCANVAC promotes solutions for healthy buildings and carbon neutral society
SCANVAC has worked successfully during several years with disseminating and promoting technologies and conferences in areas that are especially important for business conditions in Nordic countries. This SCANVAC cooperation has been very productive, since we have lot of common interests in Nordic countries, and as Nordic cooperation is the most effective way to raise up our voice also to pan-European awareness.
We have lot of common challenges in Nordic countries. We are currently moving towards energy systems that are sustainable, smart and flexible. The energy transition requires new ways of thinking about the sources, production, markets, transmission and use of renewable energy sources. In the future, we need smart buildings, in other words buildings with the capability to sense, interpret, communicate and respond to changing conditions, which are introduced by requirements of occupants concerning indoor climate, operation of technical building systems and demand of intelligent energy systems.
When reaching challenging energy saving targets, we should not neglect indoor climate. Thermal comfort and indoor air quality are of great importance to healthy and comfortable living and working environments. Especially now, when we are living in pandemic conditions, the role of ventilation has been widely noticed. To reduce transmission risk, spaces should be ventilated efficiently.
In all of this, SCANVAC can significantly influence, with help of member associations, universities and private companies. For all these challenges, we have well-educated engineers and state-of-the art technology and service available in Nordic countries.
We must strengthen cooperation between education, research and business within SCANVAC, to solve the challenges we are facing with indoor climate and global warming. With SCANVAC co-operation, we will achieve better results than with actions of individual countries.
