SCANVAC Awards

SCANVAC has three awards. Anyone can suggest award nominees by sending an email to SCANVAC president ([email protected]). Please include a motivation why you are suggesting the person/organization for the certain award and if possible, a CV of the nominee.

The SCANVAC Award
The SCANVAC Award is a prize of honour for private individuals, companies or organisations in the Nordic countries who have made outstanding contributions in the areas of heating, ventilation and sanitation.

The SCANVAC Award for young researchers
The objective of the award is to appreciate and encourage young researchers in the Nordic countries who work within the field of heating, ventilation and sanitation. The award shall be awarded to a person under 35 years of age who has made a considerable effort that can be researched and confirmed in the scientific literature.

The Rydberg Gold Medal
The Rydberg Gold Medal is a recognition for outstanding contributions to the research on or the development of ventilation and room air distribution.
The medal is typically awarded every second year in connection with the international ROOMVENT conference or in accordance to the instructions of the SCANVAC assembly of delegates. The gold medal is named after Professor John Rydberg (1908 – 1986) in order to honour his international pioneer work with room air distribution at Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan in the middle of the nineteen-hundreds.

Honorary membership of SCANVAC
SCANVAC may honour a person with an honorary membership of SCANVAC.
The honorary membership can be given to:
  • Persons in the Nordic countries who have worked meritoriously hard to strengthen the collaboration between the Nordic countries in HVAC matters.
  • Persons in or outside the Nordic countries who have contributed considerably to establishing a cooperation between SCANVAC and other organisations outside the Nordic countries.
